I have a B.A. in Russian Studies from Trinity College (Connecticut) and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University, where I received the award in literary journalism. My writing has been published in The Antioch Review, The Christian Science Monitor, The Trinity Reporter, and others. For several years, I worked as a newspaper reporter in the Seattle area, Guam, Oregon, and Los Angeles. For more than a decade, I worked solely as a novelist. I have attended the Wesleyan Writers Conference and the Vermont College of Fine Arts Novel Retreat, where I received invaluable support and feedback. I have been represented by two different literary agents, but fate failed me twice: the first agent left her agency, and the second agent died. I like to start each day in my writing room at work on my latest novel, and I also have a job in communications with a state agency. I live in Vermont with my husband and our two daughters.
